The Indian Ocean Beach Club, 25 miles south
of Mombasa, is one of Kenya’s newest hotels
with a reputation as one of its finest.The club
is situated on a quiet stretch of white sandy
beach, next to a 16th century mosque bordering
a Kenya Marine Park.
Designed in Swahili style, the club has 100
air-conditioned rooms in clusters of thatched
cottages and double upper-level whitewashed
rooms with flat roofs. All rooms are en-suite.
This Kenya beach hotel is sorrounded by Kenyan
historical landmarks like the mosque,very old
baobab trees and a famous river.
Dining options include Spices (for breakfast
and dinner); the Ocean Terrace (for lunch);
and the open-air Bahari Cove (a la carte seafood).
There is also a beachside bar.The club has conference
facilities for groups of up to 100.There is
a 200 metre-form swimming pool as well as three
plunge pools and two floodlit tennis courts.
Other activities include volleyball, croquet,
bird watching and a jogging trail as well as
water sports like windsurfing, sailing, canoeing
and free scuba lessons.
